CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

Asana

An online collaborative tool geared toward businesses but it works great for homeschoolers, especially if you have older children who can work independently.  Once you set up an account and invite your children to your account through their email addresses, Asana will allow you to create assignment lists, receive emails whenever an assignment is completed, and keep a running log of past assignments.  If assignments fail to get completed on the due date you picked, you can easily change the due date for that particular assignment without wreaking havoc on the whole schedule.  There’s also a "Comment" section for each assignment entry which is an ideal place for your children to answer questions or write a summary.

Project Drawers

This method works great if you are working with multiple children who are on different levels. You can use the entire drawer system for one child, with each drawer representing a different subject; or you can set it up so that each child has his or her own drawer.  This allows children to move at their own pace throughout the day. You could also utilitze this system in an unstructured homeschooling day by keeping the drawers stocked with items that might spark your child's interest.
