UNSCHOOLING

Unschooling - it means so many different things! One thing you can be sure of, though, is that unschoolers do not use a curriculum, they don't test, and they do whatever they want.  But you may be asking, “How on earth does that even work?”  It works because the children decide what they want to learn, and then they learn it.  This is very similar to the way an adult learns on the job.  While unschooling is a specific philosophy on how to homeschool, it will look different in every unschooling family and for every unschooled child. For a younger child, it likely means a lot of play (children primarily learn through play after all), but for a high school aged child, it often means becoming an entrepreneur, working as an apprentice, or volunteering as an intern.
