TRADITIONAL HOMESCHOOLING

For those who are new to homeschooling, the traditional approach will be the most familiar since it utilizes a defined curriculum with textbooks, workbooks, assignments and projects to go along with each subject.  It may also be considered the safest approach especially if you are considering re-integrating your child back into the school system at some point.  If you’re the kind of person who desires a learning environment where there are clear expectations of what will be taught on a daily basis as well as the security in knowing that you’re covering all the necessary material to ensure that there are no gaps in your child’s education, then the traditional approach may be right for you.

Since a defined curriculum is a major component for a traditional homeschool, you’ll want to spend some time researching curricula.  You should also check out the General Studies page on this site which will have lots of curriculum ideas and other resources to help get you started.
